Richard Azarloza, CFA, CFP®

As Chief Executive Officer, Richard sets the strategic direction for the entire firm. He balances his firm management duties with time spent working directly with Covington clients. As a portfolio manager, he helps affluent families, foundations and non-profits define and realize their goals. As an equity analyst, Richard specializes in covering the energy and industrials sectors. He is also an expert in complex wealth management strategies, including trust and estate planning, retirement planning and tax strategy.

Before joining Covington in 2006, Richard was Chief Operating Officer and senior portfolio manager with Brown Brothers Harriman in Los Angeles. Previously, he served as portfolio manager at U.S. Trust, and as analyst and portfolio manager for Bank of America Capital Management and Security Pacific Investment Management. Born in South America, Richard is of Cuban-descent and fluent in Spanish.

Richard was selected as one of Los Angeles’ Most Influential Wealth Managers in 2021 by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
